Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS/Drone) Flight Training Course for Tower crews

The course is split into three parts, The first part is a 6 hour on-line training module that familiarizes the operator with all current FAA regulations for manned aircraft (FAR 91.119) required minimum safe distances from obstructions., and the FAA part 107 Rule that sets forth the requirements for the operation of Small unmanned aircraft within the National Airspace System (NAS) in accordance with Title 14 in the Code of Federal Regulations. The course also covers basic flight characteristics of multi-rotor UAS, Maintence, Pre-Flight inspections and Emergency procedures.

The second part is an 8-hour classroom session with small multi-rotor UAS in close proximity of indoor structures and further training on UAS operating systems and controllers. This is followed up with a 6 hour outdoor “Hands On” flight training utilizing full sized UAS platforms such as the DJI Phantom and Yuneec G500 aircraft.
